Curriculum Vitae
Artist Statement
My work explores the solitude found in morning coffee, a ritual that directly influences how I interpret the world and relationships in my own life. I’m obsessed with crisp lines, negative space, and repetition reminiscent of Frank LIoyd Wright's architecture, as well as colors and textures found in avian plumage. I create wheel-thrown utilitarian pottery to heighten the intimate, tactile experiences the user has with the work, visually and physically. Through this endeavor, I intend to capture quiet subtleties through the interplay of line, color, and texture, encouraging viewers to slow down and look closer. Designed around ritual, my work promotes contemplation in moments of use. These pieces provide respite in the home, fostering reflection whether in solitude or togetherness.
